Been to this restaurant twice when I travel in Sydney, love their food. Staffs are great, dynamic location, just right at the centre of china town light rail. Very easy and convenient.

recommended by a Thai mother, we tried this for dinner and shared the small $29 pork knuckle (at least we ordered that - I didn't check the bill) - I think deep fried so very crispy skin so very filling for 3 of us sharing. Other dishes fish cakes and tom yum soup were good, and stomach was full to bursting. Only prob was a run to the little room after - I probably shouldn't have had a beer on top of this very filling meal - not sure of the cause but I'll happily try this place again.

I’ve always passed by this place and wanted to give it a try as the food at the display counter caught my eye. They just look delicious to me.

I finally got to visit this place with my friend before heading for vivid. Though the place was busy the server welcomed us with warmth and we didn’t wait long to get a table.

Every dish on their menu looked appealing to me and it took us sometimes to decide on what to eat. We went for their recommended tom yum goong and chicken pad pak.

We thought tom yum goong was huge in portion by the look from the menu but when it was served I found it small for sharing even for two people. Wish the portion was bigger given the price charged. However, we both liked the tom yum soup as it’s rich and flavorsome. It’s really appetizing and made me crave for more. As for chicken pad pak it was delicious too. It’s not overly salty and i liked the combination of everything in it.

Overall enjoy the dining experience as the food was served quick and service was good too as it didn’t take long to get a water refill whenever we ran out of water. Would love to come back to try other variety on the menu again!

The food is good. Service is just fine. The place they claimed had been operating for 15 years now, you can see some old furniture around. Cozy place. Good for families. There are meals that can feed up to 4 family members. Just in the middle of Sydney CBD and close to Chinatown Light Rail stop.

I've been coming here since uni days (back in 2015) and came back here again for lunch special during my travel visit.
Taste just like the good old days~ perfectly seasoned and loved it. That's why I always make sure to visit Tawandang every time I'm in Sydney.

Food is average, the raw prawns seem not fresh (the worst I've ever had in Thai restaurants in Sydney), papaya salad is not really tasty, the fried fish tasted good, crispy and fish sauce is good, tom kha is good. Staffs talking and not really pay attention to customer.

Delicious Thai food, clear soup with tofu, seaweed and pork mince is the best. Highly recommended
