Good Japanese food, staff lacks a bit of friendliness.

Fish and beef dishes were really tasty (sauce just slightly too sweet) and worth the price. Only minus is just the staff: First they didn't allow us to share the tea, meaning just giving one additional cup for my friend who already had water. She didn't even try to listen for understanding my question. Afterwards they rejected to charge our phone (when we asked for it) saying "we don't have charging here" which simply means they just don't want, because every restaurant for sure has electricity. Maybe friedliness is not needed at this place, as it's very busy .. So, to put it briefly, for the food I'd always return there, the service personell with pleasure could be different.

Went in for lunch and got the wagyu mate bento and the tempura prawn udon. Both dishes were quite nice. The wagyu was very tender and the marinade was perfect. The salmon was nice and fresh with no fishy smell. Unfortunately rice was a tad too mushy for my liking. The udon broth was very flavourful and tempura batter was light and crispy. Menu options were decent. Customer service was helpful and friendly. Food was presented nicely and came out in a timely manner.

Have read quite a few reviews of the restaurant not being kid friendly (however, a couple came in with their toddler and there was no issue and the waitress seated them behind us). Maybe there’s no room for prams but as far as kid friendliness is concerned I didnt see an issue).

Service wasn't too bad little rushed but not too bad. No Chardonnay by the glass so we ordered a bottle. Edamame beans needed more flavour or a bit more salt maybe. Prawn tempura with the dipping sauce was yummy. I didn't enjoy the sushi rolls especially the part where the salmon was extra chewy. The prawn tempura rolls were tasteful as for the mains 'king fish teriyaki' and 'chicken teryaki' were distasteful.
I did like steamed rice though...

Loved the authentic homey hole in the wall feel of this Japanese restaurant. Food was delicious, definitely worth returning for a wholesome Japanese food fix.

Don’t come in if you are not 10/10 hungry. “2 dishes minimum, we’re a restaurant” Quote the waitress. sort of new experience but I’m certainly not comfortable with. Food is great. Sashimi fresh and appealing, recommended. Overall a basic J-restaurant, service upgrade needed.

Probably the best miso I've had...
Sydney has a way of every Bento and katsu-Don being the same. Reliably so.
This is not the same. Starting with the presentation, the Bento is not in the mass produced rectangles.
Attention is paid to the food also, and my curry even had veggies in - you realise the other places are skimping!
Lovely little place, friendly service, highly recommend ( just be aware you pay rocks prices $$$)

Great and cosy spot! v well done food and fresh sushi. really efficient and attentive service and really nice ambience. its small so make sure you book - but because it is a small and focused restaurant the quality is excellent for the price. Highly recommended. Love the idea of the Sushi Japan - very epic.
